Not sure how many (or, if any) people follow my blog consistently, but if you do you've most likely noticed that I haven't had a blog post in quite a while. That's been for good reason, we've had quite a bit going on in my Shields family lately (including Lauri, Baby, and Me). A few weeks ago, the condo that we've been living in for the last 2 1/2 years (6 years for Lauri) sold! Which of course meant that it was time for Lauri and me to really start looking for a new place to live. Yesterday, after nearly 40 houses, and one failed offer on another property, our offer on a house was accepted!
We're both very excited about our new home, and even more relieved that we don't have to keep house hunting. Each time we went out it was like a marathon session of home viewing which was tiring for both Lauri and I, but especially her with the baby.
On top of all of this excitement, Sunday was my birthday! So we headed over to my Grandparents house to celebrate with our family, and even my brother was able to make it for dinner! If you don't know, I have a twin brother (who's a chef), and we were born on our Dad's Birthday. Being that my brother is usually busy on the weekends, we don't usually get to celebrate together on our actual birthday anymore. And it never feels quite right if we're not all together on that day. Head over to my Dad's Blog to check out a picture of the three of us (click here).
I've also been working on Logo ideas as my Dad's been in the process of re-branding Shields Digital Images into Jim Shields Photography (New name, same good looking staff...) I have one of my designs at the top of my blog now (as you probably have noticed) and have been playing around with some colors as well. It's still a bit of a work in process, but it's getting there. Let me know what you think.
P.S. I've got a high-five for the first person (besides Lauri) who can tell me where that picture was taken.

Congrats! Ryan and I can't wait to see the new place! I am so happy for you and Lauri and baby-you will have a wonderful new home to start your new family!!!
I'm glad the search is over so you can relax and get some rest... but oh yeah, now you have to MOVE!
Show us the way to the boxes and we'll be there... :)
I have to agree with everything "anonymous" said. I'm not sure who this "anonymous" person is and why she's volunteering me to help, but she's right... I'll be there! :)
I would like to add that the logo is very well done... I like!
Hi, Honey! I really like your new look. And we all know Lauri is a natural with the camera. Now, Dad & I were trying to figure out where you were for that shot. Looks like one of those wedding cameras to me. Was it maybe in the Brighton/Howell area, or maybe Frankenmuth? Just a guess. Oh well... just a guess. Love, Mom
No, that's not where it was taken... But you're getting close!
No clue about the picture, but I do like your sites new look! And Tony and I will help with your move too!! (Oh yeah, I've got MORE boxes for you!)
Jess
Here's a hint - there may or may not be another friend of the IHP in the background of this image...
Mom and I have been trying to figure that one out. I know that must have been hard for Lauri to shoot such a high tech camera though, after all she is used to my low tech stuff. Was this one taken in Phoenix????
That's a negative.
Shoot, thought I had it. I do see a beer on the table so it is a party you and her went to. Is that good enough?
I also think this is a mirror image photo as there aren't too many of those high tech cameras with the buttons on the left side. Also there would be a ring on Lauri's finger if the picture were recent, unless it was during that special time.
Very Observant! It is a mirrored image. I wanted the logo on the left, so PhotoShop to the rescue! Do you give up yet?
Not yet. Give me time!
This is taken in Dave Stadler's garage. That's a high five for me, uh, huh.
Sorry, we weren't even at that wedding.
Oh yea! Boo hoo.
The Santini Wedding. Still trying????
